SNAP - Increasing of java heap size in configuration files

#1

To avoid some RAM issues during SNAP processing, the minimum and maximum java heap size can be increased in the snap configuration files.

  • For SNAP desktop
Modify in sudo mode the snap.conf file in /usr/local/snapX/etc/. Increase the parameters Xms and Xmx (respectively minimum and maximum memory size), without exceeding the allocated RAM of the VM.

  • For GPT (graphical processing command line tool)
Modify similarly in sudo mode the gpt.vmoptions file in /usr/local/snapx/bin/. Increase the parameters Xms and Xmx (respectively minimum and maximum memory size), without exceeding the allocated RAM of the VM.
