RUS Copernicus organises a full day online training session targeted at a beginner audience wishing to discover Sentinel-1 data processing for water mapping.
With their night and day all weather imaging capabilities, SAR sensors onboard the Sentinel-1 missions provide the input material to produce water masks over wide areas. After a short introduction about the main theoretical concepts for water mapping from C-band SAR imagery, the course, through a hands-on session, will illustrate how Sentinel-1 GRD products can be exploited using the Machine Learning technique with the SNAP toolbox to obtain high resolution water masks in raster format, then in a vector one.
Participants will learn how to access Sentinel-1 data, explore the RUS environment and discover many interesting functionalities of the open source SNAP toolbox.
Attendance to this remote training session is free but requires registration before 15 January 2021.
