The Living Planet Symposium 2019, planned between 13 and 17 May in Milan, Italy, will focus on how Earth Observation gives a large contribution to science and society. On this occasion, the RUS service will provide on 12 May 2019 3 hands-on training sessions on different applications:
- The first one entitled “SAR and optical data fusion for land applications” will demonstrate the usage of open source tools (SNAP, QGIS, R) to run a supervised classification over an agricultural area using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 products
- The second one concerning “Marine applications with Sentinel-3” will illustrate large scale applications dedicated to ocean monitoring with Sentinel-3 data
- The last one related to “Exploiting Sentinel-5P data” will rely on Sentinel-5P and focus on the creation of gridded products for a particular type of trace gas and/or aerosol in the atmosphere.
During these 3 sessions held in parallel on 12 May 2019 afternoon, the participants will access a Virtual Machine from their own laptop to exploit the RUS environment to download and process Sentinel data.
Participation to the course is free but limited to people registered to the conference and matching the conditions of use of the RUS service. Space is limited to 20 participants for each session on a first-come first-served basis.
